The WdKA Leisure & Events Management study programme offers opportunities for life. Free time is the experience economy, and you can add to it in many different ways.
You are creative and inspired, economically driven and practical. You are at the centre of a buzzing cosmopolitan city with infinite opportunities for young talent. You are at the heart of regional development: life, work, recreation, sports and entertainment. Conquer Rotterdam and you conquer the world!
In today’s market, characterised by a combination of increasing consumer expectations and decreasing financial possibilities, there is a clear need for leisure managers who can produce and deliver. Leisure managers with a ‘hands-on’ mentality, who are able to take on an entire process from initial development to roll-out, based on a well-considered strategic vision.
Leisure managers who not only demonstrate an affinity with the profession but who will let nothing stand in their way. A perspective of the future in which every day is a new experience? Days filled with inspiration, communication and creativity? The Leisure & Events Management study programme offers opportunities for life. Free time is the experience economy, and you can add to it in many different ways. A dazzling music festival, outdoor fitness, or preparing Rotterdam for the Olympic Games. Welcome to the largest service industry of our time: leisure management. The city, its residents, entrepreneurs and consumers – all of these come together in the world of leisure management. And you are the hub. You and your ideas. As a skilled creative professional with a talent for building bridges, you are in a position to help put a city on the map, or to make a museum commercially viable. You develop concepts, set up projects, manage and promote: you are the director of the leisure experience.
Among other projects, our leisure producers have taken on assignments for the Rotterdam International Film Festival and the pop music venue Paradiso. Over the past few years, they have been a part of successful projects for War Child, BrainsXChange and 3FM Serious Request.
This course will be taught in the Dutch language.

Please note: if you’d like to enrol in our Leisure & Events Management programme, you can do so directly through Studielink (before May 1). Next to that, please hit the button 'Apply now' to register for a study council meeting with one of our tutors.
