About
In her projects and current design research Mariska concentrates on transforming perspectives concerning single people from different groups and different ages. She researches how one can escape from predefined social and visual formats in profiling individuals and explores strategies of representation. Currently she looks for open design concepts in search for new and more diverse visual strategies in displaying human individuals. In researching the representation of single people she focusses on daily routines and life changing events and wonders why these individuals choose to live outside of family structures and love relationships. Is it choice? Type of caracter? Autonomy? Fortune or misfortune? Or cultural structures?
