Join us in the Research Station (WH.00.316) on March 17th (16:00-17:30) for a live screening of PZI XPUB course director Michael Murtaugh and artist researcher Lídia Pereira Malho Rodrigues in conversation with Pippin Barr, Associate Professor of Design and Computation Arts at Concordia University in Montréal. This is the third Research in Perspective event associated with Concordia's ongoing collaboration and exchange with WdKA, led by Skye Maule-O’Brien.
Michael Murtaugh
Michael designs and researches community databases, interactive documentary, and tools for new forms of (collaborative) reading and writing online. He is course director of the Experimental Publishing Master XPUB at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam.
Lídia is an artist and researcher whose work focuses on the political economy of the internet, algorithmic governance and labour in and around corporate social networks. She is currently a candidate in the PhDArts programme of the Leiden University Academy of Creative and Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague where she is investigating the uses of videogames as feminist tactical media.
Pippin Barr is an Associate Professor, Design and Computation Arts at Concordia.
Research in Perspective hosts conversations about research in practice at the WdKA-Piet Zwart Institute. It is a forum for connecting, sharing information and insights, and acknowledging, questioning, and honoring the diversity of approaches, methods, and practices involved in the research we undertake. Research in Perspective invites guests and welcomes session proposals. Convened by Miriam Rasch, Vivian Sky Rehberg and Renée Turner, coordinated via the Research Station and Research Center.
