You Are Not Invited is an online event focusing on the Society of the Spectacle organised by second-year Graphic Design students.
From September until December these students have been doing research on the theme The Society of the Spectacle. The Society of the Spectacle is a critique of contemporary consumer culture and commodity fetishism. Dealing with the following issues such as class alienation, cultural homogenisation, and mass media.
In the first week of September, the students received theory and short practice assignments related to this theme and graphic design. In the second phase of their research, the students developed an event called You Are Not Invited.
They will host their event coming Thursday, November 26, 2020, from 15.00 - 17.00 hrs. Within this event student groups host all kinds of sub events, click here for a complete overview.
