New at the WdKA: The Red Floor Gallery

Willem de Kooning Academy
Fri 26 Oct
For students, by students.

Introducing The Red Floor Gallery!

The Red Floor Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the Willem de Kooning Academy. Run by students, for students. Named after its iconic red tiles, the exhibition space offers students the opportunity to exhibit their works to an audience, discuss each other’s work and make new contacts.
The students came up with the idea of starting a gallery space after they have noticed that the academy was missing a place where students could show their work to other students. And by taking over the exhibition place located in the Blaak basement their goal is to eventually turn it into a permanent gallery where students will have the opportunity to exhibit their works.

Official opening:
Wednesday, October the 7th
WdKA / Blaak, 10

The gallery team currently consists of three students from various majors and years: Jeffrey Arts is a second-year product designer, Laura Kleinhans - a third-year illustrator and Max Terpstra a fourth-year illustrator. The gallery team looks forward to collaborating and brainstorming with students and giving the opportunity to all to exhibit.
