The Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (WdKA/RUAS), offers a variety of bachelor (circa 2400 students) and master programs (circa 150 students) in the field of visual culture, art, design, education in arts, and leisure management.

At the moment we are looking for two new colleagues in the role of Vitality Officer (0.5 fte)

Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences offers a temporary contract for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal. Preferred starting month May or June 2022. Exact date is to be discussed.

WdKA Vitality Office aims to stimulate, facilitate and amplify the vitality and well-being of students and employees. Preventive vitality interventions and policies focus on the improvement of one’s sense of purpose, happiness, balance, energy and well-being. You will report directly to the Head of Vitality.

What will you be doing? 

  • You research the vitality and well-being wishes and needs in our WdKA community (bottom-up).
  • You co-initiate new changes, plans, interventions, policies (both top-down and bottom-up) with a focus on amplition and prevention.
  • You peer-review and advise top-down management decisions, changes and policies, both solicited and unsolicited, with a preventative and ampliative Vitality perspective.
  • You are a key catalyst for the Vitality Community. The Vitality Community is a new space and platform to inspire, connect, share, network and collaborate in projects, assignments, and topics related to well-being and vitality.
  • You are co-writer for Vitality communication. You are a great mindful communicator and you can write texts for strategic advisory (implementation) plans, but also promotional texts for Vitality interventions, our Vitality page, in our Vitality Community, on mywdka.nl, newsletters et cetera.

Requirements: 

  • Resilience, grit and perseverance
  • University degree in a relevant field
  • An excellent command of verbal and written English and Dutch
  • Experience and interest in well-being and vitality
  • Experience as a (workshop) trainer in a relevant vitality theme(s) and trainer skills is a plus
  • Interest in the field of visual culture, art, design, education in arts, and leisure management
  • Familiarity with and ability to engage in international art and culture related networks
  • Familiarity with and ability to engage in an educational context
  • EU/ECC work authorization

What we offer you 

The position is valued according to scale 9 or scale 10 of the CAO HBO (minimum € 2,902.39 and a maximum of € 4,393.81 gross per month for full-time employment (depending on experience), exclusive of additional 8% holiday pay and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. Secondary benefits include professional training opportunities and an attractive pension scheme.

Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences works with a limited travel reimbursement (maximum of 20 km one-way).

All staff members of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences must be able to submit a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag, VOG) issued by the Dutch Minister of Justice and Security.
