Important Update Regarding Admissions or 'Studiekeuzecheck'
Dear WdKA application candidates,
On Monday 23 March, the government introduced new measures that have a far-reaching effect on our interactions and therefore make education on location impossible. We have decided to extend the measures, previously announced for higher education, from April 6 to June 1.
Due to the advice from RIVM of March 16 2020, all admissions on the location Willem de Kooning Academy will be cancelled with the exception of the ‘studiekeuzecheck’ appointments of the Bachelor programme Leisure & Events Management.
All admissions days for the Bachelors in Fine Art, Design and Teacher Training will only take place through 'remote admission'. You can apply for this option through our online application tool. This applies to all nationalities.
Bachelor programmes Fine Art, Design and Teacher Training
The final deadline to upload your questionnaire and admission assignments is postponed to June 11, 2020. Please take into account that your application at Studielink has to be done before June 1st, 2020. It takes five to eight working days to receive your student number, which is necessary to apply for a remote admission. From the day you’ve completed your upload and questionnaire, it takes approximately fourteen working days to receive a result of your admission.
Our advice: do not wait until the last day. Our assessor-teams are ready and waiting in anticipation to assess your work, starting from March 23. The sooner you upload your assignment and complete your application, the sooner you will receive the result.
Remaining upload deadlines for EU and non-EU candidates
Monday, April 20, 2019 (EU only)
What is ‘remote’ admission?
With a 'remote admission' you have to submit your work digitally. It is important that in addition to the portfolio, the home assignment and the questionnaire, you have to do a second home assignment of your choice. This is the same procedure as candidates who do 'remote admission'. The second home assignment replaces the assignment that you will otherwise do during the admission day at our academy. The questionnaire replaces the conversation that you would normally have with one of the assessors. Please visit this page for details.
We are highly experienced in remote admission through our international Admission experience, so although the current crisis limits us all we are very able to properly assess all new talents!
Tips to answer the questionnaire
Please answer this questionnaire carefully and extensively and tell as much as possible about yourself and your motivation. The assessors would like to get a clear picture of you and your motivation about how and why you want to follow this programme.
Live Portfolio Q&A Session
Want to double-check your portfolio with one of our students? Do you have questions about remote admission procedure or life at WdKA? You are welcome to attend our Live Portfolio Q&A Session through Skype on April 7, April 21, May 7 and May 19 at 17:30 hrs. Please register via firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note: There are limited places available per day.
Bachelor programme Leisure & Events Management, an important update
Studiekeuzecheck. Due to the present situation and recent decisions made by the University of Applied Sciences, also the bachelor course Leisure & Events Management has decided to cancel all ‘studiekeuzecheck’ appointments on our location Rotterdam and to proceed with ‘online’ portfolio checks. You can still apply and upload your assignments, but our assessor will assess them ‘online’. If there are questions regarding your application they will contact you personally in the form of an email or skype invitation.
Extra tips for your assignment:
- Let us know if you were present at ‘proefstuderen’ and/or our Open Day.
- What expectations do you have from our programme?
- For the assignment, you will receive 3 articles to read, please express clearly your opinion about the articles in your portfolio assignment.
- Pay attention to shape and design of your document and if necessary make it visual.
Please take into account that your application in Studielink has to be done before June 1st, 2020. It takes five to eight working days to receive your student number, which is necessary to apply for a ‘studiekeuzecheck’. Please contact email@example.com for all your questions regarding your ‘studiekeuzecheck’.
