Learn to sharpen your selective auditory attention.

In this workshop guided by Bennet Edwin Kruit, participants learn to sharpen their auditory attention and to experience sonic resonance. After a collective workout, the participants sit down for a Selective Auditory Attention Workshop. Participants will notice that silence does not exist: there is always movement, there is always life. According to Bennet Edwin Kruit, by enhancing our ability to listen and by letting go of our self-focus and being fully present in the moment, we can come into contact with that which resonates beyond the collective knowledge of mankind. In a time in which everything is accelerating, we have started to listen selectively and have thus lost contact with the greater whole.

Bennet Edwin Kruit received his Bachelor's degree in Lifestyle Transformation Design (2018) from the Willem de Kooning Academy. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in Fine Art & Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU). Kruit works with photography, film, and audiovisual elements and combines these with poetry and spoken word. He merges these different media in physical installations and performances.
