An old derelict warehouse located on the riverside will be the picturesque setting of an upcoming art event. On this previous Hollandia territory, prestigious engineering projects used to be constructed, such as the London Eye, de Willemsbrug and de Maeslantkering.
Out here 32 talented artists will show their work. This exhibition is a mix of divergent disciplines. Amongst the participants, there are many former students, alumni and tutors from the WdKA and Piet Zwart Institute: Olaf Mooij, Jeannette Ephraim, Marianne Fontein, Iwan Smit, Wouter Nieuwenhuis, Isaac Monté, Niels Bekkema, Bas Kortmann, Fokka Deelen, Ivo Vrouwe, Eddy Kaiser and Nora van Krimpen.
On Friday, May the 25th, the alderman J.Blankenberg will announce the official opening of the event, followed up by a performance of the opera diva Tamara Obreskova. Saturday and Sunday will also be brightened up by live music. Last but not least: our very own print expert and guitar virtuoso Jasper de Koster and his band Sjarm will shake the place up with their catchy sounds.
This event has been initialized by studio igNor and is supported by Municipality of Krimpen a/d IJssel, CBK Rotterdam, de Waterbus and local entrepreneurs.
