Two research projects of the Rotterdam Arts & Sciences Lab (RASL) received a fund to 'create a link between innovative art- and culture projects and scientific and social issues'. The projects are funded within the research programme Smart Culture - Art and Culture.
- Within the project ‘GAMPSISS: Gameful Music Performances for Smart, Inclusive, and Sustainable Societies’ researchers M. Hamel (Codarts), prof. dr. ir. A. Verbraeck (TU Delft) and prof. dr. C.J.M. van Eijck (Erasmus University Rotterdam) looked for a relationship between gaming and classical music.
- Dr. H.J.C.J. Hitters (Erasmus University), dr. P.P.L. Berkers (Erasmus University) en dr. P.W.M. Rutten (lector Creative Business, Creating 010) researched the sustainable economic, social and cultural value of local live-popmusic in Rotterdam in their project ‘Staging popular music: sustainable live music ecologies for artists, music venues and cities’.
Besides these projects, also dr. Florian Cramer (lector Creating 010) and prof. dr. Janneke Wesseling (Leiden University) got funded for their research project 'Bridging art, design and technology through Critical Making'. The grant allows the applicants to realize a four year research project which aims at furthering the discourse of Critical Making.
