Charlotte Bik, Our New Head of School Commercial Practices

Willem de Kooning Academy
Thu 10 May

We are happy to introduce our new colleague:

Charlotte Bik

We are happy and proud to announce that after a long and intensive selection procedure we have appointed Charlotte Bik as Head of School (Course Director) Commercial Practices and successor to Margo Ludoph.

Charlotte studied Fashion Design at the ArtEZ University of the Arts Arnhem. After graduating she worked as a designer in fashion industry. Initially, as a designer of womenswear, knitwear and outerwear for Samen Sterk/Euretco Fashion, and later as a Head Designer at LHS Design Studio, Sandwich. At LHS, Charlotte worked on trend-forecasting and development of retail concepts for ProRail, Houtbrox en Berden as well as designing collections for Hema, Wehkamp, M&C Concepts and Claudia Sträter.

From 2010 Charlotte worked at ArtEZ as director of the Academy of Art & Design in Arnhem. She was responsible for all Bachelor programmes and development of the new Master programmes including Fashion Design, Product Design, Creative Writing and, until recently, the Fashion Masters.

Charlotte has vast experience in the management of art education and (commercial) design practice. In meetings at a national level, where Charlotte represented ArtEZ, we have got to know her as a driven, engaged designer and educator. Cheerful, a critical thinker and someone who is able to connect people, she will bring fun, inspiration and a large international network to our academy. We look forward to starting the new academic year with Charlotte in September 2018.
