HBO masters Piet Zwart Institute NON-EU/EER

Admission

Students in the master programmes of the Piet Zwart Institute, part of the Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam University, are interested in developing their work through experimentation as well as critical reflection on contemporary culture and society. They are able to formulate questions for independent research, and are ready to engage in collaborative study and work projects within the framework of their programme of choice.

English is our working language and proficiency in both speaking and writing is required. Candidates are required to have studied and received a bachelor (or equivalent) diploma. Not all programmes require a previous degree in the same field of study.

If you would like to apply for one of the master programmes of the Piet Zwart Institute, please follow the link to the online application tool.

Assessment

Only a limited number of students can be placed in each programme annually. Assessment will take place on the basis of a motivation letter, portfolio of relevant work, résumé, proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS) and a diploma from an accredited bachelor (or equivalent) study programme.

All applicants for the Piet Zwart Institute need to have a completed bachelor as a minimum degree. The selection criteria per master course are:

– Master Media Design and Communciation: bachelor in the field of communication design, interaction design, information design, photography, animation, audiovisual design, fine art or graphic design
