Our admission procedure assesses if this specific type of education and a professional career after graduation suits you.
When you choose to do a bachelor study programme at the Willem de Kooning Academy, please register online via the WdKA admission tool.
After receiving your admission form, we will send you two assignments. Please complete these at home and send them to us by post together with your portfolio. You will receive detailed guidelines on how to do this. In addition, you will be asked to fill out an online questionnaire.
Note: if you’re already living in the Netherlands, you will be invited to the academy for an admisison procedure.
Within a few weeks after the admission procedure, you will receive a written notification about the results and a statement whether you’re admitted or not.
Make sure you also officially register at DUO – IB-Groep (the official Dutch student registration site) through www.studielink.nl and choose Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (‘Hogeschool Rotterdam’) and the study of your choice. After registration at Studielink, you will receive additional information from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences on how to complete your registration.
Besides this admission procedure, there are a few legal requirements which you must meet. You need to be in possession of a diploma, which is an equivalent of the Dutch MBO-4, HAVO or VWO diploma.
If you fail to meet these educational entry requirements, you will have to do a so-called colloquium doctum (if you are 21 years or over). It is a general intelligence test on Dutch HAVO-level.
On top of this, we will also need proof of your English language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL).
